Who we are
Zawame Travel is a tour operator based in Nairobi, Kenya. This policy covers zawametravel.com and the enquiries we receive through it. Questions about it can be sent to info@zawametravel.com.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry we ask for your name, email address, the country you are travelling from and, optionally, a phone or WhatsApp number, your preferred travel dates, group size, budget and any notes you add. We collect only what we need to plan and quote a trip.
If you message us on WhatsApp, we receive your number and the messages you send. If you email us, we receive what you send.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare an itinerary and quote.
- To arrange your booking: lodges, park authorities, transport and other suppliers need traveller names and, for some services, passport details, which we request separately once you confirm.
- To contact you about your trip before, during and after travel.
We do not sell your details, add you to a mailing list without asking, or share them with anyone who is not involved in delivering your trip.
Website analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and may use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether our advertising leads to enquiries. These tools set cookies and collect anonymised usage data. They do not receive the contents of your enquiry.
The enquiry form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than a script. Turnstile may process your IP address and browser details for that purpose.
Where it is stored
Enquiries are delivered to our email and stored there and in our booking records. Form submissions pass through a third-party form service which retains a copy for a limited period.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted within two years. Booking records are kept for as long as Kenyan tax and accounting law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email info@zawametravel.com and we will respond within 30 days. Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019 applies to how we handle personal data; visitors from the EU and UK have equivalent rights under the GDPR.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page.
