We plan the trip, we drive it, and we are the people you call if anything needs sorting out on the way.
Who we are
Zawame Travel is a tour operator based in Nairobi, running private safaris across Kenya and northern Tanzania for international guests. We are a small team of guides, drivers and the people who plan the routes, and everyone here has grown up around the parks we take you to.
We use comfortable lodges from groups like Sopa, Serena and Ashnil, our own safari vehicles, and a driver-guide who stays with you from the airport to the airport. It is the kind of safari most people actually take, and we think it should be planned as carefully as the expensive ones.
Every route on this site is written day by day because that is how we plan them internally. You should know where you are sleeping and how far you are driving before you send anyone a deposit.
Our own guides and vehicles
We do not hand you to a third party once the deposit clears. The guide who meets you works for us.
Honest about price
Every quote is itemised and every route has a cost guide behind it. No hidden fees, no surprise park charges.
Kenyan, and proud of it
The guides here know these parks the way you know your own street. That is the difference between seeing an animal and understanding it.
Responsible where it counts
We follow park rules on distance and off-road driving, use lodges that employ locally, and never chase an animal for a photograph.

How we work

Tell us your dates and what you want to see
By the form, by email or on WhatsApp. A rough idea is enough.

We send a day-by-day route and a quote
Usually within one working day. Lodges named, drive times shown, price itemised.
- 3
Change anything
Add nights, swap a park, upgrade a lodge. We revise until it is right.

Confirm with a deposit
The balance is due 14 days before you arrive. Vouchers are issued on full payment.
- 5
We meet you at the airport
And stay with you until we drop you back. Anything that comes up on the way, we handle.
