About Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Ol Pejeta is a private conservancy on the Laikipia plateau, on the equator between Mount Kenya and the Aberdares. It holds East Africa's largest black rhino population and, in a guarded enclosure, the two remaining northern white rhinos in the world.
It is also the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, at the Sweetwaters sanctuary for animals rescued from the pet trade. Ol Pejeta sits naturally between Samburu and the Rift lakes, which is where our Essence of Kenya route places it.
